Just curious, what's the fastest a firearm sold in the classifieds? I posted an add at 12 noon today and had it sold and transferred by 3:30. I had to drive an hour to meet. Anyone sold one faster.

I bought one when we still had the old classified subforum. I think the ad was up for an hour when I saw it. Two hours later and a couple PMs it was mine. Had to wait a week so our schedules aligned and then I physical purchased it

I got a response to a WTB within about 8 minutes of posting it.. I found that to be absolutely awesome. Especially since I called to 6 of my favorite shops and nobody could help me.

If something is "priced right" it sells almost immediately here . . . at least under the old classifieds system.

I've bought a few (old system) within less than an hour of posting (just pure luck) and met the person the same day.

I find the new system harder to access what's for sale, WHERE the person is (not just the state . . . MA is rather big when the seller is on the Cape and the interested person is in Springfield), etc. It works a lot, lot better for the Mods/Admin, not so much for the buyer/seller IMNSHO but I fully understand why Derek went that way (and I agree from a management perspective). [My biggest beef with the new system is trying to figure out where the other person is located BEFORE making contact. I won't bother if he/she is 100 miles away or across the Bridge and don't want to waste anyone else's time.]

How about slow sales? Some items were listed and bumped up on a regular basis for a couple of years or more.
I notice that in the dealer classifieds.

If something is ridiculously priced it may indeed hang on forever.

Dealers typically will not lower a price even if it sits for a year or more, thus what you see in Dealer Classifieds is bumped forever with no action. Again if it was priced right, it would move. This crowd (NES) has money to spend, but we're always looking for "deals", not retail pricing. [wink]

I bought a CZ52 within a few minutes of its posting. I went back in the thread after sending a PM to buy another gun he had and that sold too. If its priced right, its gone.

i think i agreed to purchase my maadi and had the transfer done within 90 minutes. the ad was only up for 90 or so minutes i think, maybe even less.
