Citi Bank new Rules for Retailers

A corporation's ONLY job is to make more money. There must be some extremely politically-minded people at the top. Interested to see how their stock value is affected.

It sounds like an invitation to run out and buy a new gun. Lets say April 19th- The second coming of the shot heard around the world. I wonder if we could turn it into a huge media event. Does anyone sell Bump Stock tee shirts? It would be a great group buy.

A firm's primary job is to transfer money from the customers and stockholders to those in charge of the firm.

The secondary job is to make money for the stockholders.

So Bigot Bloomberg's cheap dates, pimps, and madams, are all conspiring to deny free lawful practice of civil rights. They might as well put up the old signs for, "No Irish May Apply" outside the banks because it's the same sort of discrimination. If a baker has to bake a cake why the Hell don't these bailed out bankers have to accept lawfully paying customers?

The first one seems redundant. The rest. . . . . spot check???? I bet they checked and they have, like, 8 gun shops as customers and figured this was a good idea.

Was watching That 70's Show at noon and Comedy Central told me they are for stricter gun laws. I'm for funnier shows. Seems neither of us are getting what we want.

Let me start by saying I don't agree with Citi, but not so fast on the redundancy of the first point.

A shop can transfer to you if you are delayed more than 3 days. Technically you haven't "passed" the check, you have just passed beyond the expiration window outlined in the background check law.

It is a fine line of distinction, but it is a line of distinction.

Still some high order bulls--t if you ask me....

Just used my citi card to buy a nice XDM. Thanks citi for the interest free transaction since I paid it off immediately. Nice to take advantage of the protections a credit card offer plus the cash back when I use it. I will start looking for another credit card company.

I wish I had a citi account to cancel but I have thought up some fun.

Every time I get a citibank offer I am going to return the envelope stuffed with NRA,GOA and SAF paperwork. maybe I can fine some adds for bump stocks or high cap magazines. It will be childish but at least I can dream of them opening the envelopes having dreams of new customers to bleed dry only to find........... gun porn!!!!!

im curious on how they would enforce it unless i am mistaken all they can tell is where and when and for how much
See Level 3 Transactions, upthread.

They'd enforce it by terminating commercial banking relationships with any gun-related business who doesn't follow their rules. Guess they're nostalgic for the good old days of Operation Chokepoint.

If Citi can choose who to sell to than so should a baker making a cake.

I don't get the "cancel my card/account" hurr durr, it's the merchant who is deciding whether or not to include the info by whichever card machine they've chosen to use. It's the LGS ratting you out to Citi so they can save a few bucks on fees when instead they could just pass the fee onto the customer(a policy some LGS already use) which I for one would happily pay. That's right though, there's plenty of folks here who will drive an hour or so(probably coming close to negating the savings on gas spent) to a shop just to save $10/$20 on the price of a firearm instead of supporting their LGS.

Level-3 Processing Explained
What this really means is that merchants who want to supply Level-3 data to get the fee savings need to input their transaction information from a system using software that prompts them for the required information.

Comedy Central... Sounds like either false advertising or a bait and switch scheme to me... ;)

LOL. I'm wondering if they could shoe-horn yet another annoying-white-guy anti-Trump political talking-head show on there. I bet there's room right next to one of their "funny women are sluts" shows.

Exactly! One has to wonder what has gotten into every cotton-picking person in America when they feel they need to use their position to make their political feelings known. Usually IGNORANT political feelings.

I have a couple of Citi cards. Used them for my daughters wedding, got 120k miles on AA, went to Jamaica for $120 for two of us, and just sent the wife to Florida for a week for $11. Use it, once again, they can't dictate who sells what product to a client.

So the gun store can sell a gift card that can immediately be redeemed toward the purchase of a firearm.

ETA: I'm going to write citi and tell them to consider restricting transactions for gay wedding cakes.

Citi hasn't (yet) said anything about restricting what consumers can buy, this policy limits what/how merchants can sell.

This is Citigroup telling commercial customers that if they are a LGS (or any gun-related business), they can only keep their merchant account with Citi by agreeing to a bunch of restrictions on what they can sell, and may need to start doing Level 3 transaction processing so Citigroup can verify compliance.

That's right though, there's plenty of folks here who will drive an hour or so(probably coming close to negating the savings on gas spent) to a shop just to save $10/$20 on the price of a firearm instead of supporting their LGS.
Personally, I go to one of the many great privately-owned small gun stores in NH, and ask them what kind of cash discount they can give. If they can come with ~10% of the best price elsewhere (including the all-in GoG price including FFL transfer fee), I'll buy local.
