Chipotle: "Don't Bring Guns in our Stores"

I know I'll get a lot of flack for this, but I don't give a shit anymore. Open carry protests are just ****ing stupid. The success of pro 2A activism is actually winning more hearts and minds than the dried up whores at MDA can tolerate, we are beating them at every turn for the simple fact that in the United States, we really HATE being told what to do, even more when they tell us what to THINK.

That said, we have to realize that no matter what, some people are afraid of guns and its an obstacle no amount of education, no matter how well intended, is going to overcome. We get way further by calmly reciting facts to the masses of red faced bullies, and yeah, I am referring to mothers with children, than we do by showing off our hardware as if its a fashion statement.

Your right, that was a tacky move.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
It's not helping

I don't belive in foaming at the mouth LET'S BOYCOTT type stuff, but if you don't want my money, i'm happy not to give it to you.
Last year the race track at Loudon sent out an email that was less than pleasant about their new no smoking policy.
In it was threats of being escorted from the property if caught lighting up ect.
We have been going to the track for 20 years and seasons ticket holders for 10.
No problem.
Called the track, told them to cancel the season tickets and why.
Then we booked a fishing trip instead and had a blast.
Moral of the story, for me anyway, i'll spend my money where i'm wanted.

Whenever I feel like a good burrito, I just fly down to Mexico. Powdered burritos dusted with coke. [laugh]

Regardless of what they "ask" customers to do, I'm still going to patronize them, and I'm still going to carry concealed on their property. I honestly think that their intention was to allow concealed carry while putting a stop to the asinine open rifle carry. If they wanted an outright ban, they could easily have done so. It's private property, and such is their right. Instead, they ask in a roundabout way for their patrons to avoid seeing firearms being openly carried.

It's easy to call for a boycott, and if that's what you choose to do, that is your right. Do you also boycott every MA and CT business that pays taxes to the state government that support neutered 2A laws?

Another win for the MOMs thanks to open carry dooshbaggery. Honestly I would rather not eat lunch next to some 400 lb tool with his GAY-R 15 slung. Since he is so fat, the barrel is going to be pointing in an unsafe direction anyway. Pistols don't phase me and this nonsense would probabl not be coming to a head if these idiots would stop forcing businesses into a position where they have to make a choice.

I swear these guys must be on bloomturd's payroll

. . . Of course as with other demanding moms press releases, Chipoltles didn't actually prohibit anything, they're simply asking that customers not bring firearms into their restaurants.

CHIPOTLES DID NOT PUBLISH A PRESS RELEASE ON THIS MATTER.

MomsDemandingAction did. The only available evidence is that Chipotles might have privately responded to a petition by MDA. Anything else is speculation at the moment. Hey, maybe they DO hate guns but so far, there is no evidence to suggest they are banning anything, except the rantings of some addlepated bimbos.

ETA: OK they appear to have responded to some emails with affirmation, but as of this afternoon their website did NOT contain a press release, which would presumably be how such a request would be made to the public.

I agree. They are on his payroll.

I told my wife about this. She said "concealed means concealed, unless there's metal detectors at the door (in which case I won't go in there) what's the big deal.
God I love that woman. She gets it.

They aren't singling out open carry in their response:
Thanks for reaching out to us.

We acknowledge that there are strong arguments on the topic, and that this is a sensitive issue. We simply ask our customers not to bring guns into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel. We understand that the vast majority of gun owners are responsible citizens and we appreciate them honoring this request. We always welcome the exchange of ideas and opinions, and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

We hope you have a good day,

I've said it before and I'll say it again... we can be our own worst enemies at times.

I'm all for open carry, if that's how someone chooses to do so.

But, these open display gatherings, with slung AR's (or any guns for that matter)?

WTF is the purpose... I mean really?

The ones organizing them and/or attending need a punch in the throat.

Yeah... let's just do the oppositions work for them.

****ing idiots

ETA... and I think it's highly unlikely that it's anti-2nd amendment vermin that are the ones doing this, or are behind it.

Finally, someone gets it.

Apparently these morons learned nothing from Starbucks or Jack in the Box.

Walking into a restaurant with a semi auto rifle slung over your aint the smartest move. If they carried concealed a hand gun this would have been just another day. Instead they poked the bear and now have to live with the consequences

Sent from the blind

Correct. People aren't getting that point for some reason. They just want to walk into stores with AR's because "it's my right" and to promote their agendas. You get what you asked for, like you said. Society isn't going to become desensitized to open carry anytime soon...it's just the way it is unfortunately. Sorry.

Keep it concealed! It does not matter if it's a request or outright ban in these businesses. The point is we are bringing more negative attention to ourselves than we are positve attention with these types of displays.

Well, the texans fudged that one up. I get that it's their right and yada yada. Still weird as **** to go to a restaurant with an AR slung to your back. They made a point alright. Now, Chipotle made a point as well. I'm a fan of the 2A, but I honestly think that going to a restaurant open carrying a long gun makes you look like an imbecile.

Your right, that was a tacky move.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
It's not helping

You cannot legally open carry a handgun in Texas. You can only open carry long guns. A right not exercised is a right lost. You guys almost sound the same as MDA calling them imbeciles, morons, ****ing stupid, and saying they should be 'throat punched'. Seriously. You can't open carry a handgun in Texas. Some might not even be legally allowed to conceal carry a handgun. But both are not really relevant. Either you support the right to bear arms, or you don't.

If Chipotle wants to make a policy saying customers can't carry guns, they can do that. Their choice. If someone wants to not eat their as a result, they can, their choice. If someone wants to ignore it, also, their choice. But when their isn't a policy against it and people do carry, they are morons and imbeciles? Seems legit...

I don't even know where there is a Chipotle around here. I do know there are a number of places that have no gun policies. They aren't binding. As a result, I don't care. It isn't a factor in my decision to go or not go there, or to open or conceal carry. Neither is your opinion that I'm an imbecile, moron, ****ing stupid, and should be punched.

Stay classy.

Winning heart and minds [rolleyes]
Yeah, there's a "proven" strategy (H&M), let's try that one again, again, again? [thinking]

These guys aren't the problem, they are a symptom. This "conversation" needs to be had and harsh words are going to be exchanged. They are less of a concern than the quiet apathy that follows in their wake.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us about this very sensitive issue. We recognize that the vast majority of gun owners are responsible citizens who carry their guns in accordance with local laws. We hope that those same citizens will honor our request to refrain from bringing their firearms into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel. I will definitely make a note of your sentiments regarding our request. In the meantime, I hope that you have a peaceful rest of the week and that we may someday have the opportunity to serve you again.
Sincerely,

(My reply to this BS would have been):
Dear Andrea.
If I choose to visit your establishment, I will have in my possession my valid/active Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms, Class A, with No Restrictions, as well as personal defense weapons of my choosing. I will visit Chipotle at any time I choose to during your business hours, and will carry these weapons of personal safety in, around, near and in proximity to your restaurant any damned time I choose.
Additionally, I have complied a list of the 10 most f*cked up individuals whom I know personally. Issues including, but not limited to, drug abuse, alcoholism, violence, rage, anger mismanagement, spouse abuse/domestic violence, child abuse, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc. And 8 of the 10 (that's EIGHT OUT OF TEN, Andrea) are LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL.
I, on the other hand, am not law enforcement personnel. Yet if I do (unlikely, but perhaps as someones guest) visit Chipotle, I will do so with my Smith&Wesson 442 in my right front pocket, as well as my Glock 22 strapped to my ankle, both fully loaded with high-powered, hollow-point rounds (plus one extra round in the chamber of the Glock). And I will do so any damned time I choose to, as is my right, as a law-abiding citizen, under the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.
In the meantime, I hope that YOU also "have a peaceful rest of the week".
Sincerely,
A law abiding, gun carrying, peaceful United States citizen.

Your best option is to simply keep your $$$ away from chipotle.
If a criminal goes in there and shoots the place up, dont draw your glock or protect anyone. Let fate go its way. Let the 25 minute police response time take care of everyone. People like you and i have no business enterring a chipotle.

another reason why i miss chik-fil-a. Someone get me back south!!!

No, a right not exercised is not a right lost. Plenty of people don't exercise the 2A, or many other rights for that matter (right to assemble, etc). That doesn't mean they've 'lost' the right to do so. And everyone one this forum obviously supports the RKBA, some of us just don't agree with antics people pull. Going into Chipotle with a AR strapped on...are you f**king kidding me? You think that's a good idea that will help our cause? No, it's moronic and it got the predicted response.

I could give two shits if Chipotle 'bans' guns or not. It's their business, and their 'right' to do so. Like we've all said - if it bothers you that much, just get your burritos someplace else.

Pretty pointless if you don't exercise it, don't you think? Oh, I support the right to bear arms to the extent that you don't bears arms. Yep, that makes sense...

And everyone one this forum obviously supports the RKBA, some of us just don't agree with antics people pull.

No, some people very clearly don't support the right to bear arms. You don't have to open carry a long gun if you don't want. Telling others they shouldn't, and berating them when they do, is in fact, the opposite of supporting the right to bear arms.

Going into Chipotle with a AR strapped on...are you f**king kidding me? You think that's a good idea that will help our cause? No, it's moronic and it got the predicted response.

What cause? Why does exercising any right have to 'help [a] cause'? The right to bear arms doesn't only extend to the point of supporting or promoting a cause, even if that is the intention.

I could give two shits if Chipotle 'bans' guns or not. It's their business, and their 'right' to do so. Like we've all said - if it bothers you that much, just get your burritos someplace else.

I don't know if it was directed at me, but yes, I'm pretty sure that is what I said.

Yep, I did!

I inferred that MrJones meant that taking an abrasive approach can hurt the pro2A cause. For example, if I think I could be in a room full of liberal moon bats (basically anywhere in MA) I would not brandish a firearm in plain sight. I would absolutely carry my CCW and they could go on in their little unicorn & gummy bear worlds with their sensibilities intact.

Dude, we're just going to have to agree to disagree here. You're playing semantics now, parsing up every bit of what I said to twist it to your point of view. I guess we can just agree to frequent Taco Bell more?

I don't necessarily disagree, Except, that whole "harsh words being exchanged" thing doesn't really happen in any great amount. 'Tards OC rifles in a chain restauraunt, antis get annoyed, whine at restaurant chain, chain then issues limp wristed edict asking tards "not to do it anymore please with sugar on top thx", it turns into much ado about nothing in the end... just like Starbucks. Pro gunners then whine at chains, chains issue more limp wristed statements in response. Then handful of gun owners actually boycott, the rest of us still carry guns in those places discreetly and don't give a rats behind what anyone thinks about it. If this kind of thing was done in an anti retard state (like CA) more stupid laws get passed to "ban" the behavior. We've seen this movie before and we know how it ends. It's pretty formulaic and lame.

Hey - watch it with the GAY-R crap man. I happen to like ARs.

As responsible gun owners, we need to face facts. America will NEVER be a hard-line pro-gun nation across political and social boundaries. It simply won't happen, especially in regions such as the Northeast. Accepting this, at least for the time being, means that we can't act surprised when people who practice their legal right to open carry in a region that's light-years ahead of us in terms of pro-firearms laws have it blow up in our collective faces. Call me a pessimist, but I don't ever see the opposite sides of the firearm spectrum ever seeing eye-to-eye. It will ALWAYS be a battle of us vs. them, as long as we all continue to breed and raise our offspring along our lines of thinking. No one side is going to finally convince the other that we were right and they were wrong.

All we can do in the present is fight the good fight, which means knowing when to push back, and knowing when to say as a collective, "Stop being an attention-whore for the sake of political controversy."

EDIT: Spelling on account of Wild Turkey. I work midnight to 8am. This is my 5 o'clock. I can quit anytime I want. Shut up.
