They must read some police press stories from the US because guns just went off on their own, and of course apologies were 'heartfelt'. The officers and their supervisors didn't get paid leaves though, as two were actually confined. They need some training on the thin blue line obviously.

BEIJING (AP) -- A handgun went off during a police safety talk at a kindergarten in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou on Thursday, injuring four adults and one child, police said.

The gun misfired during a demonstration and the bullet struck the ground, sending up sparks and cement that hit the arms and legs of bystanders, the city's Zhengdong police post said on its microblog.

The injuries were minor, the statement said. It said two police officers involved were confined as an internal punishment by the department, and that a deputy director, a squad chief and an instructor had been suspended.

Police extended "heartfelt apologies," it said.

pretty funny, at least in RF things are like they used to, cops will mark a murder as a suicide until you get enough public attention, then officials get punished severely.

what are they carrying?

Have you seen the handguns they're being issued?

For the first time in 60 years, the police officers in Shanghai will be armed with handguns according to a report at china.org.cn. The report states the officers will carry a 9mm revolver that is equipped with three safety devices and can fire rubber bullets in addition to conventional ammunition.

The revolvers in question are likely the 9mm police revolvers identified here by world.guns.ru. The handguns are a double action revolver with a swing out cylinder that are chambered for a low power 9mm round. According to the information, the rounds are ballistically similar to the .38 S&W (not Special). Muzzle velocity is listed as 720 fps with an unknown weight bullet.

this is what happens when the only patent they could steal was a starter pistol..

but the Ultra-Tacticool Barrel shroud looked Way cooler on the starter pistol.

i wish our .gov would take infractions like this more seriously maybe not as serious as the Chinese.

From the article:
The two police officers are being held in solitary confinement and three of their supervisors have been suspended, authorities said in a separate posting on Thursday.

exactly how it should be.

exactly how it should be.
What was the entire point of this demonstration? Ordinary Chinese are strictly forbidden by law from owning any type of firearm or ammunition. Penalties are draconian, even for possession of an air gun. That country is the wet dream of DeLeo, Bloomberg and all of the rest of the gun-ban crowd.
