China’s state-run Global Times on Monday used the weekend’s shootings to argue that gun ownership is “out of control” in the United States and mass shootings are “shocking in a U.S. allegedly governed by law.”

That curious phrasing — criminals by definition do not obey laws, so their existence does not prove a nation is lawless — belied China’s desire to use mass shootings as a way of slapping back at Americans who criticize Beijing for such horrors as the persecution of the Uyghur Muslims and the erosion of Hong Kong’s autonomy.

This is why - as an IT pro who used to do consulting - I ALWAYS advised clients that sensitive information such as trade secrets, etc. should only be kept in an air-gapped network disconnected from the internet and disconnected from any network that has internet connectivity.

But most companies didn't listen. They still don't because maintaining an air-gapped LAN requires a high administrative burden when it comes to even basic things, like updating AV and OSs on endpoints. Everyone is so cloud-focused today with nearly complete disregard for the fact that they don't even know where their data is kept when it's up there... NEvermind who actually has access to it or the physical equipment where it's kept..

The companies that suffer these consequences bring it upon themselves.

They see free education, healthcare, cheap subsidized housing, 365 sunny days made possible by solar.....That is what they see. Just like Europeans in 1848, 1905, 1918, 1968.............

In Europe, communists who were destroying democracy in 1948 were "fighting" Soviet communism in 1968. And those communist who were fighting in 1968 were bringing down the communism in 1989. Confusing? Communists who started with Lenin were purged by Stalin, Stalin's people were purged and many of them killed, ..........Liberals realize their mistakes only when they are betrayed by their own.

Do not assume they know. Look at them like your future partners, look at them like you would look on your silly teens at home, they are Americans, but they are unreasonable at the moment. You can't have a discussion with them because they are on the floor right now hysterically demanding candy. They think they need to own the entire supermarket in order to chew on something sweet 24 hours per day. You know better! Deny them stupidity and plow forward.

What we do know, though, is that our media is a source of propaganda, our politicians are corrupted, our universities are filled with communists, our culture is a joke and our manners are all but gone moving forward.
