Finished this just in time. Picked up 6 laying hens last week.

BTW: Anyone looking for laying hens. Zuber & Son's in Dartmouth Ma. still has about 100 left.

Wow! That looks awesome. Homemade?

Yes Homemade. I copied ideas from a few I saw on the web. Idea is to move it around to give the hens a fresh area each day. Instead of just the typical chicken yard. The roof opens and Inside has a roost and three nesting boxes. Made of 2x2's plywood and covered with "$5 Gal Oops Stain" from Home depot

Friend has to buy a couple -- she says the Rooster and other hens kill the chicks. And if you buy two hens then the other birds leave them alone but just one would be pecked to death.

Sounds really tough to be a dopey chicken!

Knob Creek, is that Avatar a cutaway 1895?

How old are the chicks they are putting in there?

It's a Winchester 1895 I have in 30-03 with the Lyman Elevator sight.

Nice tractor Knob Creek. The more green stuff they eat the better the eggs.

A flock of chickens has an established pecking order... introduce a new bird and everyone else tries to assert their dominance. There are techniques to introduce new birds to the flock. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&pq=introduce%20new%20chickens&xhr=t&q=adding+new+chickens+to+your+flock&cp=27&pf=p&sclient=psy&source=hp&aq=0&aqi=&aql=&oq=adding+new+chickens+to+your&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=5ef78bb68ade800c&biw=1523&bih=1175
