Cheap Beretta Storm carbine knockoff

Anyone know anything about the hi-point? Is it junk? For $150 I am guessing it's got to have some corners cut.

I didn't think I needed a 9mm carbine, but I like the Beretta Storm, and for a total of about $200 (150 for the carbine, 50 for the stock) I could get this knockoff.

The Highpoint got a Buy It review in a recent issue of Gun Tests magazine. I guess they liked it, and they liked it better than the Beretta Storm.

Some people seem to like the Highpoint. This stock makes it look a lot better than the original. Please notice however that they chose a Storm lookalike stock.

Anyone know if there are legal (i.e., preban) high capacity mags available for this carbine?

Did I mention how much I loathe the MA gun laws?

Promag makes some but they're trash. There are a couple of guys who have started converting Suomi drums for Hi-Point use but nothing pre-ban.
