Police arrest two in Charlestown High School shooting
By Suzanne Smalley and Maria Cramer, Globe Staff

Police arrested two juvenile suspects today in connection with an incident Thursday in Charlestown in which shots were fired at high school students walking to school. Boston police said that two males aged 15 and 16 were taken into custody this morning on an array of charges including assault with intent to murder. The suspects, who police did not identify because of their age, are scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon in Boston Juvenile Court. The shots were fired shortly after 7.30 a.m. Thursday at three students on their way to Charlestown High School. The students were not hurt. Investigators recovered shell casings at the scene. The teens have also been charged with assault by means of a deadly weapon, discharging a weapon within 500 feet of a building and Illegal possession of a firearm. No, it was in the news. Since nobody was killed and there was no gory story and video, the media put it to bed quickly. I think the kids who did it ought to be given some sort of death penalty, might discourage some others of their kind from doing the same thing. Probably they will get probation and a stern lecture.

I think a good caning would be in order.

No death and destruction, so it lasted about 1 1/2 days in the media.

I would be suprised if any punishment went beyond their 18th birthday.
