COP at the Salem Campus told my daughter. " I will sign off on an FID for OC/Mace" "No you cannot carry OC on Campus". And told her in a sidebar-"If you have to use it, douche the f**ker"

To which point she is arrested and charged for illegally carrying OC on campus. Catch 22 at it's finest right there [banghead]. Hope she never needs it.

Yeah, see, Oregon is NOTHING like the PRM. As a recent People's Republic of Massachusetts escapee now residing in the free state of Oregon - the first time in over 30 years I've lived outside the PRM - I have the best perspective I've ever had on how bad Mass really is. Know how long my Oregon concealed carry permit took? About a week or two. Know how long it took to apply? About 20 minutes - including 15-18 minutes BS'ing with the retired volunteers at the Sheriff's office.

Within the first week I lived here, I was talking to one of the local PD officers - he asked me what I'm carrying. Assuming he meant my duty weapon, I told him "Sig 229R-DAK". He said "no, I mean what are you carrying now? I assume you carry? Crazy not to. Quiet town, but you never know. You wear your seatbelt even if you don't expect to get in an accident, right?"

Even more telling was my trip to a Wal-Mart in Crescent City, CA, for cheap 12GA (found a really cool trap and skeet club just south of the border, taking it up as a new hobby). You can just pick up one of those 100 round value packs of 12GA, and a 100rd of WWB 9MM, some .45ACP, and a hundo pack of .223, throw it in your shopping cart with the diapers, motor oil, and beer (pretty damn cheap there, too), and check out at the registers up front with not so much as a second glance. In California.

California is more of a free state than Massachusetts. I sh!t you not. This bodes poorly for my home state.

Anybody have a body count at Oregon campuses over the weekend? What with all of those guns being carried and such, I'm assuming there are dead bodies all over the place. [thinking]

Parts of it definitely have that feel but law wise its gotta be just about tied. They have the waiting period and have to deal with tons of "compliance" issues. Carry permits are pretty bad, probably a bit worse than MA in aggregate though some counties are very green. OC is fine w/o license which is great but don't get caught with a baton, MA is the exact reverse of that situation. They are about equally as fu*ked.

I do agree that you have more of a gun culture in many spots out there whereas in MA, guns are really a taboo subject for most.

Are Zoobows legal in Kalifornia ???

I bet you that kid that said he won't be able to peacefully learn with guns around will be very happy if someone has a gun when some crazy dude decides to go into campus and shoot a bunch of people for no reason.

You cant fix stupid.

CA aggressively prosecutes magazine ban violations, and there is NO exemption except for mags personally posessed in MA before the Caliban.

OC in CA is legal only if the gun is unloaded, and even that is very likely to go away soon.

It's kind like arguing if Hepatatis C or HIV is worse.

As far as OC spray in MA I was told by UMass Boston PD to go for it. I am really angry that the cronic problem of students being attacked in school parking lots is still going on and the PD has done NOTHING to help it! I recieve emails about it weekly.

Here is an example:

PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT
September 30, 2011
When issues of concern arise that affect the UMass Boston campus, it is our practice to inform our community through a Public Safety Alert.
The University of Massachusetts Boston’s Department of Public Safety is investigating an attempted robbery on a UMass Boston student in Lot C, adjacent to the Peninsula Apartments.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. on September 29, a male student reported that he was assaulted by three white males unknown to him while walking to his car, and who attempted to take items from his pockets. The assailants struck him and knocked him to the ground. The victim suffered minor injuries to his mouth and nose.
The only description given was three white males who left the area in a white pickup truck.
The Department of Public Safety reminds everyone in the university community to be aware of your surroundings at all times. It is advisable to walk in pairs or groups, especially in isolated areas, as we enter Daylight Savings Time when darkness falls at a much earlier hour.
Anyone with knowledge of this incident is encouraged to contact the UMass Boston Police Department at (617) 287-7780.

You would think they would put police officers in the bad parking lots so this stuff didnt happen ALL the time but no..... Go figure I pay way to much to be taught by shitty teachers and then pay 370 bucks for a parking pass to park where I will likely be assulted sometime.... Go figure The Peoples Republic of Assachusetts at work.
