Cats...

Lynne, that's just wrong.

He won't dance; don't ask him. [lol]

Although he will chase a laser pointer. He really skids nice on the new hardwood floors. [twisted]

Maybe you two just haven't found the right music to get their little kitty booty's movin?!?!

Near as we can figure, Shadow's about 11 (we adopted him in the fall of '99, and they think he was about 5 then), and he'd rather sleep in someone's lap than dance.

At the risk of alienating my new friends here, I have to say that I hate cats. I find them offensive. They shed badly and make me sneeze. They want what they want, when they want it. It makes no difference what you want, only what they want.

But unlike some other groups of people who think their rights to not like or not to be offended means others must give way to them, I respect your rights to have and love cats.

You may have as many cats as you like. I will also have as many as I like - none.

I will not protest and petition your towns to ban them as long as you don't petition my town to make me have one.

This is (was) America the land of the free..

Pilgrim, you won't alienate me. We were dog people for a very long time. The last 3 years we have been turned to the dark side of cats. Ours were strays, some uncaring people decided to dump off here. Our first one Smudge we had to catch in the dead of winter in a havaheart since she wouldn't come to anybody, and the other cat we took in was around this time last year. He was covered in ticks. Tigre is actually a dog in a cats body. Actually both act more like dogs than cats. They actually greet us when we come home with the dogs. Both are very content to sit in our laps, and the both are very curious and have to check things out.
Not everyone loves animals, and I also understand not everyone loves cats.

As Cyrano Jones once said, "How sad for you, my friend!"

Hey, to each his own. Although you may not want to visit my house, as you will sneeze because this is Shadow's house, too. That's OK... you can come visit my Lodge instead. Meeting is next Thursday night at 7:30. Come early enough to work your way in. (that goes for any other Brother, too)

Indeed.

I too am allergic to cats. Badly allergic.

We have one. My allergists (current and former) have asked if there was a chance that we would get rid of the cat. My answer was short and polite. "No." One of the allergists suggest that we regularly bathe the cat. I did not dignify that with an answer.

Yeah, my wife's allergist asked her if she would consider a pet iguana instead. She said that she really didn't want to see an iguana peeking out from under the covers at her. He just about had a cow when she answered affirmatively to his "You let the cat SLEEP with you?!"

We still have a cat.

cats are great, they are not all over you like dogs, sometimes I want to be left alone and so do my cats
here is a pic of one that I fostered for a local shelter

What a little cutie! They're so adorable when they're little. They're almost like dogs when they're babies. then they grow up and become snotty. [lol]

Awww... cute.

And Lynne? You're welcome to come over and meet Shadow; I think he'll change your mind. Definitely not snotty. Only cat I ever had who had a catitude became that way after being cornered by a three year old BRAT who shrieked at him while his mother did NOTHING.

I kept the cat but told the mother her spawn was not invited back.

Lynne, you can always meet my two. Tigre will greet you and head butt you,and Smudge will greet you and want to be petted. She has broken out of her shell big time this year. She used to be such a skitty kitty, but has decided it's not bad here. Tiggie really helped. She is even more playful because of him too. [lol]
I also told the allergist if I am allergic to cats they are not leaving? I would live with the allergy. [twisted] Thankfully I am not allergic to them.

I've liked the association even more since they've changed to BATFE. Now there's something for just about everybody: Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. I figure they're going to complete the project when they become BATFECCS, including Caffeine, Chocolate and Sex under the list of things regulated, restricted and taxed. [wink]
