Hey Matt (BloodHound) do you recognize this?

Looks like one of the new Hi Point stocks that came out a little while ago. If it is, it definitely looks better than the original stock. Very tactical looking, and it must be comfy to shoot.

Yup, it's a Hi-Point. I added a WalMart special Red-Dot and a barrel shroud.
I haven't fired it yet as it just came back from the factory for warranty service. They went over the rifle, rebuilt it and sent me 2 free mags "for my trouble". Can't argue with service like that.
I think I'll bring it punkin huntin[smile]

So who's got Hi-Points ? Every time I go looking for one no one's got them in stock.

That stock is cool, the way they come from the factory they are one fugly gun.

They're hard to get for sure. I've seen them used in shops for what they go for new. Four Seasons has one listed in their used section. Check the auction sites and find someone to transfer for a reasonable fee.

The stock is by ATI and I found it for less than $50. You can put a LASER aimer in it but because I put the barrel shroud on, it blocks the hole for it.

Jon...nice...glad to see hi-point made everything right for ya...trust me you dont need the laser sight with that thing...i shot it in comparison to a beretta cx4 in 9mm and an h&k mp5...all from rest at 50 yards...the hi point was only beat by the mp5 by 1/4 of an inch...wicked accurate little gun...good luck with it

also...ill try and dig up the info on where i got the gun...i think i only paid $150 nib...but then you gotta pay a transfer fee...i bought this one from a seller in michigan i believe

The barrel shroud makes all the difference in it's appearance. It looks naked when in that stock without the shroud.

Some pictures would be great here. If you have before/after with the old/new stocks, all the better.

So, this can be had at Walmart for less than $200 and the stock for less than $50? Are there other decent stock upgrade choices?

Is this gun 9mm only, or also available in .40 and/or .45 or anything else?

Sounds like most are pretty happy with it. I wonder what would be good optics for it. Maybe one of the $35 Walmart red dot sights?

Could be a decent, inexpensive solution.

Help!

[frown] I'm getting a clear screen when I click on the picture link in the attachment window... Anyone know how to correct this problem? I am using IE.

Thanks.

I had pictures of it but they disappeared when the server crashed. I just looked to see if I had any on my machine or photobucket account but I don't. I can do another pic of it but it'll be a couple weeks before I can get around to it.

I does have a WalMart special red dot on it.
The Hi-Point carbines come in 9mm and .40. A .45 model was supposed to come out but I don't know if it ever did.

Montague Ammo Depot usually has at least one 995 and a 4095, and if not he can prolly get one pretty quick. Last I heard the .45 version was going threw testing and should be out soon.

I had one, never had a problem with it but sold it to fund another project. Fun and accurate little guns.

Saw this on the ATI site:

Forgive my ignorance, but what's so difficult about finding these guns? Are they discontinued by the manufacturer? I keep reading about them - seems people love to hate HiPoint. What's the attraction?

Word has it that their pistols are generally crap. The carbines get much better reviews. For the most part the attraction of the carbine seems to be accessorizing it and enjoying it - for those who don't want to drop the extra money on the Beretta or other more expensive carbine. Cheap to buy, cheap to dress up, cheap to feed and it doesn't shoot half bad.

I don;t know why they are hard to find, maybe it's a lack of demand or popularity - it took my local FFL a couple weeks to get one in, not sure who he orders from. I've seen them in the SOG catalogs, maybe they keep more in stock, I don't know. Last I knew they are still being manufactured and are available in 9mm or .40.

Jack, there ARE no ugly women... if you do fall in love with one that you initially thought is ugly, you just gradually realize that you were wrong.

I beg to differ. There are plenty of ugly women (and men, too).

Usually they're blond and think they sh!t ice cream...

OH... I didn't realize that we were talking about the SOUL... in which case, yes, Paris Hilton has been beaten with an ugly stick. Possibly the same one that Hitlery (and Rosie) got hit with.
