At least that's what it looked like.

I had to go see our jeweler, we usually go to her store in Milford, but she was at her store in Hopkinton, so we went out there to pick up a watch she was repairing for me.

Anyway, as I was leaving the store and heading down the main street to 495 we see two troopers hulling ass off the interstate and coming right at us. I've already pulled over as I "go right for sirens and lights" and the car in front of them just won't get out of the way.

Well, the car in the front makes a really fast squeeling turn and the cops go after her.

She was a lady with several kids in the back. But it sure looked like they were chasing the car.

I've only seen a high speed chase on TV, so I was pretty stoked.

I saw the chase from East Providence that went in and out of Mass a few times a few weeks ago.

Going East on 195, I see nearly 10 EP cruisers doing west, over the bridge into Providence, but not moving tooo fast, maybe 60. I called into work since I was on my way in to dispatch, they confirmed it was a chase...

He was run off the road (by a guy with warrants) before I got into the station.

It sure was cool...

Every now and then one of my cars will call in to me (not when Ive dispatched them, rather they're calling in to initiate a call) and I'll hear the siren going in the background, I always hope it'll be a chase (is that bad?). Usualy they just let me know they're trying to catch up to a car that passed them in the op. direction going pretty darn fast... But when they call in and I hear it, it get me 'going' a little.....

Chases are coooool. Stopsticks are coooooooler!

I remember watching Discovery and they had this rocket lauched car with some electonics attached. When it would go under the car being chased it would short out the car. Then the car would stop working and come to a stop.

Now that's cool. But then cops will have to drive with rocket cars attached to the bumpers.

I saw that too. Sends out a huge electro magnetic pulse and kills the cars 'puters.

Hasnt "OnStar" actually killed peoples motors or tracked people for law enforcement during dangerous chases?

I've heard they can track them, but I haven't heard they can't shut the car off.

We've had OnStar track stolen vehicles that were on the move and they have never "killed" the car.

This guy was a passenger in the vehicle. I wonder if he has a cold, LOL.

If you go to the link you'll have to scan down the page past the cloud of black powder smoke. :D

No engine power = no power brakes / no power steering.

What happens when said nitwit crashes into something, or kills someone?
Its called LAWSUIT :(

I think that is the reason that prototype electron pulse generator will not be in production...

Same thing that happens when you use stop sticks or if you just chase the car and the perp loses control and slams into someone. Lawsuits will exist until we exterminate all the lawyers! [wink]

Usually there's enough pressure for the brakes to stop the car once when the engine cuts out. And as for power steering... you CAN steer the car; it's just a lot harder. I've had to do it when I lost the power steering pump on my '66 Dodge Monaco station wagon. Nearest thing to a 4-wheeled aircraft carrier you'll ever see.
