That was the system budgeted at $100 million that ended up costing them about $2 billion dollars somehow. I wonder if the contractor that sold it to them has their own private island somewhere in the carribean.
I hope that Canada is successful in repealing the registry. It is a total waste of time and money.
On a slightly different note, how come Canada gets elected representatives who look like Candice Hoeppner, and we get people like Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi?
This is like a quadruple dupe... so don't where to post this, but I know many will not RTF, so I want to point out...;
...the long-run registry law passed in 1995 faced bitter opposition from rural Canada, the Conservative party's base, which considered it an overreaction to the problem of urban crime.
... Hoeppner said the registry has been a waste of taxpayers' dollars, close to $2 billion. She called it a "defining moment" for the Conservative government.
