Canada Goes Full Castro - Bans All Handgun Transactions & Forces Surrender of Semi-Auto Rifles

  • Addressing intimate partner violence, gender-based violence, and self-harm involving firearms bycreating a new “red flag” law that would enable courts to require that individuals considered a danger to themselves or others surrender their firearms to law enforcement, while protecting the safety of the individual applying to the red flag process, including by protecting their identity. In addition, the government will invest $6.6 million to help raise awareness of the new law and provide supports to vulnerable and marginalized groups to navigate the provisions.

See the bit I "yellowed"? That means that you have no right to face your accuser after your ex reports you as a danger...

Yeah, political enemies can be disarmed via anonymous claim. Submit all the Canadian truckers names on one shot for example. Police show up at their doors and confiscate all guns.

American Gun and ammunition manufacturers should ban the sale of their items to any and all entities in Canada. That would include their military and law enforcement. No sales and no shipping of any kind to anywhere north of our border.
It might help improve supply for us in the US.

I would be for this, we should pressure ammo manufacturers to boycott Canada and put America first.

So, Canada has basically made it impossible for people who currently own handguns to do anything but either keep them until their death or hand them over to the government.

It will take a while before all handgun owners die off, so my guess is Canada is at some point going to order a mandatory buyback for all handguns and because they have licensing those that don't will get that the old door to door confiscation going.

Don't be so dramatic. Everyone knows that registration isn't just a prelude to confiscation.

The Canadian grandfathering strategy has always been "final solution within one generation...."

When C68 was passed in 1993o, small concealable guns like the S&W 686 4" 357 were moved to "prohibited grandfathered" status. The ban included a minimum barrel length of 105mm (not 100mm, had to catch those concealable 686's and Glock 19s) and all .25 caliber. Persons who had such guns licensed were allowed to keep them, but they could only be surrendered to the crown or traded/sold between people who had a pre-C68 license for the handguns. Eventually, by definition, one person would own all the civilian legal .25acp and <4" barrel handguns, and when that person died, they would have their "Final solution" for that type of gun. They also banned all rifle mags over 5 rounds with no grandfathering, and implemented universal gun registration.

They also did something similar with full auto, but with a very rare movie industry permit.

In a "concession" to the gun owing community the law provided for a "high cap mag permit". Once implemented, the policy was "After consultation with sportsmen and gun control advocates, it has been decided that public safety is more important that legitimate recreational shooting and no such licenses shall be issued" (wording from memory, but meaning correct).

People get the Government they vote for.

He was just re-elected again

Trudeau was elected the same way Slow Joe was. Dominion Voting Systems is a Canadian company after all.

Trudeau has clearly stated his intention to be a dictator.

He has the support of a supra-national organization with unlimited resources.

He has already taken one shot at imposing martial law.

It's strange to watch Canada going communist with Castreau in charge.

Isn't that how NYC works anyway? Handguns are de facto impossible to get, unless youre famous or rich and donate to the NYPD. Biden would love to put NYC gun policy as a shining example of what the whole country should be like.
