Caliber Conversions Table

Hey guys,

Im really getting into mil-surps now and I was wondering if there is a good list of caliber conversions. IE 9mm Luger is 9mm parabellum is 9X19. .380 ACP is 9mm Makarov is 9mm Kurtz is 9x18.

My intent is to know at a glance what i could buy commercially rather than having to reload. Maybe we could get a good list going and sticky it here..

.380 is not 9mm mak
.380 is 9mm Kurtz (Kurtz means short in German.)
If you want a good book on ammo get Cartridges of the World. It gives a little history on each cartridge and some of the names that they go by

9mm Luger is 9x19
9mm Mak is 9x18
.380 is 9x17
9x19 and 9x17 use the same diameter bullet, 9x18 is larger

Cartridges of the world is a great book, pretty cheap $.
