CAD USERS

Anyone here use any kind of cad software? I am looking for gun files, Prints or Models. I can import many types of files 2d and 3d.

i use solidworks 2006, i have a few models of an AR15 reciever and some other assorted materials, but nothing complete.
would love to get a set of complete 1911 prints and create a complete interactive 3d model.

I'm a CAD nerd. AutoCAD '06. 3d and 2d. Unfortunately, no gun models... let me search the 'net some...

wow, thanks for sharing! shame its all imported geometry after the iges conversion to SW, but still everythings there., its jt embedded features now.

I am a Pro/e Wildfire user primarily. But I do use solidworks as well.

I use solidworks, but only for my job. Having a copy at home to tinker with would be fun though... Just take a pair of calipers and reverse engineer the gun, I do it all the time with tooling!

Autocad Mechanical Desktop, Solid Edge 2D V20, just learning NX5.
Anyone got any books for the NX5 or NX6 Manufacturing module?

BTW, Solid Edge 2D V20 is now free! You do have to get a licence from UGS to activate it (no charge.)

+1, I am running it on two computers. I think it's ok at best, it's a far cry from Pro-E. But, for the price you can't complain

I disagree. I swore and complained all the time when I was forced to use Alibre. I finally told my employer that I wasn't going to do any more design work for them if they didn't get me a Solidworks license.

I'm much happier now
