CA - Homeowner Shoots 1 Of 2 Would-Be Intruders

A Rancho Mirage homeowner thwarted a would-be robber as the man entered his home-- shooting him as he barged into the house overnight, officials said Saturday.

"The victim reported that he had fired his weapon at the suspect when the suspect pushed his way through the door and attempted to enter," Riverside Sheriff's Sergeant Dave Florez said.

The incident happened late Friday night, on University Circle in Rancho Mirage, near Bob Hope and Country Club drives, according to Florez, who added that the man shot the intruder "multiple times.".....
