I have a question for the C&R experts.
Do interstate handgun transfer laws apply to C&R purchases? Let's say I'm on vacation in Maine and I buy a CZ82 on my C&R, can I just take possession and drive home with it? Does it still have to be transferred to an FFL in Ma. or is my C&R enough?
I've bought one C&R pistol online, and rifles in-person out of state, but no handguns.
Thanks

Here is how I understand it Yes,but look out for state laws in transportation.

Federally you are FFL for purposes of the purchase in Maine. Yes, buy in Maine and bring home. File FA10 in MA to satisfy MA law. Always check local laws to make sure you dont run afoul of those.

C&R is C&R. Thats the beauty of it. You can buy anything eligible and walk away with it.

state and local laws still apply to a C&R.
the C&R only applies to federal laws since it's a federal license.
federal law requires that handguns be transferred via in-state FFL, however if the handgun is considered a C&R, then the 03FFL/C&R indeed covers the transfer regardless of state.
