I have a friend that is trying to sell a S&W 38 Special (not sure of model but doesnt matter) I told him if it wasnt too much of a pain in the ass I would take it off his hands as it is a good price. Here is what I am not sure of... He used to live in MA the gun is originally a MA gun and is still registered in MA but he mover to South Carolina 3-4 years ago so he has changed his address and MA LTC has expired and I dont think he needs one there so I was just wondering if anyone had an idea how to do a transfer

There only needs to be one FFL involved, but since it is a handgun, that FFL must be in the buyer's state of residence. Find an FFL in MA who is willing to do the transfer, then have your friend send the gun via FedEx or UPS to the FFL.
