Do you just put "None" in the box that asks for the serial numbers? (according to a local dealer, this is the way to do it)

My friend is selling me a couple of really old guns that don't have any serial numbers on them.

Just want to make sure we fill out the paperwork correctly.

Thanks.

I'm guessing they are older then that.

One is a "Ranger" 410 gage, Model 101 12 and the other is a single shot .22 bolt action rifle by "Springfield Arms", Doesn't even have a model number on it.

Phew! I put "NONE" in the Serial Number field for my Remington 511. I looked that gun over six ways to Sunday looking for an S/N, couldn't find it. Then I looked up the Remington 511 on Remington's web site and found that the 511 didn't have S/Ns until the late 1950s (IIRC).

NONE is the right answer and Kingson is correct. S/Ns were NOT required prior to 1968.
