So, I was reading the other day in my local paper about Bush visting the Mexican border, watching Border Patrol do their jobs, etc. He had various suggestions on how to make the border more secure.

He had ideas like tons more agents, all kinds of infrared devices so they can see in the dark better, all this Mission Impossible bullcrap that would cost the taxpayers billions of dollars and do nothing useful.

Quotes like "infrared devices would help border agents be more effective at night, help spot folks trying to cross the border under cover of darkness."

How do you keep an eye on a couple thousand miles with a few hundred night vision goggles?
These people are coming over the border to work supposedly, right?
Hire them to build the damn wall.
A 20 FOOT HIGH, 10 FOOT THICK WALL. THE FREAKIN CHINESE FIGURED THAT OUT THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO. LET'S CATCH UP TO YEAR 500bc CHINESE TECHNOLOGY.

I don't buy, not for one second, that these people "do what American's wont". I have a real problem with that. The real translation of that is "These people will do what American's won't for that amount of money".This labor is artificially keeping prices lower and wages lower. It's wrecking havoc on the health care system, the prison system, the welfare system and bunches of other "systems".
These people actually OPPRESS the rest of us and cap our pay. I think the Liberals should see that for what the effect is, increasing the gap between the rich and poor and making the middle class smaller.

Nowhere on the Statue of Liberty does it say "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free so that I can financially support them, feed them, house them, and provide health care for them."

Im ready to start an initiaitive of soliciting aggragate companies to donate the Cement FREE of charge to the project if bush would just give the damn go ahead.

It cost the U.S. 10 billion dollars a year to process the illegals back to Mexico. It will cost us 10 billion to build that wall. Seems like a no brainer to me.

And therein lies part of the problem. Big business has shown no enthusiasm for getting rid of these people, who provide inexpensive labor.
In my view, they are not immigrants at all, but rather criminals who are violating US laws.

Hey, it's working for Israel. I mean, look at how loud the Palestinians are screaming. Any time the ones a project are aimed against start to wail, you know it's effective.

You aren't a NH LEO, are you? Some LEO's in NH started using trespassing laws against the illegal aliens this year... and boy, was there a fuss made by the libs against that!

I totally agree.

and becuase our border is unprotected it means we are foolishly throwing away billions on our airline safety policies. No-fly lists indeed... Why would a terrorist take the risk of a flight into the US when he can take a plane to South America and walk over the border with his impliments of destruction in hand.. only a few miles from several major metropolitan areas..
no security screeners or no fly lists on a 1000 mile gap of open country into the US.
 
If you really need to stop immigration and send illeagals back easily, put a border control officer in every hospital in America in the Emergency Room. This uninsured care has cost some hospitals enough $$ to force them to close down. By law the hospital cannot turn down someone because they do not have insurance or $$.

can someone explain it to me why this hasnt been done yesterday?
what partisian bullshit beurocracy is at the root of this wall never gaining traction?
