I have access to various hardwoods that grow on my property in Vt. (Oak, Cherry, Maple, etc)
so I thought that I would build my own stock. Does any know if there are any drawings of
the AR stock that I could start with rather than measure up an existing one?

If you go with this, PM me for some wood finishing tips. I do custom knives and have some tricks up my sleeve.

You may run into SERIOUS problems getting the wood to the right moisture content. Most are dried for years or professionally done or youll risk absurd splitting, cracking, and warping.

I have some 1" dimensional cherry that is 25 years old that I was thinking about using.

Otherwise I was thinking about building a small solar kiln and drying some various lumber
for the project.
