Does anybody know the rules for shooting on your own property? I.E. distances from street or other houses. Is it a state guideline or different for every town? Any knowledge would be appreciated.

The state law is 500' from an occupied dwelling unless you have the owners' permission, and 150' from a road.

Some towns have additional regulations.

yea my towns noise violation doesn't have a time frame. if I don't want to hear my neighbors lawnmower at noon on a Saturday he has to stop. Luckily i only have one neighbor and were friends and I have the middle of the day off so he's at work.

i only have 1 neighbor my house is close to the road and lot is long heading away from street and houses i won't be able to do long distance but will be good for handgun practice

I have had the same question for awhile. Do these limits have to be maintained for the complete travel of the bullet? From shooting position to target?
