I have a brick of them on my desk at work. I wonder when the CPSC police are going to rappel in through the windows to confiscate them.

These are not your typical refrigerator magnets. Rare earth from what I remember.

Yeah but where does the madness of banning actually end? Are we to find out later today that Cheerios are now a choking hazard? What happened to free choice? Maybe some people are capable of doing the right thing and others aren't. Who am I to decide on who can have fun and who can't? I played with magnets when I was a kid and look I'm still here.

Yeah, you are still here. BUT look at who you hang out with in the interweb. [thinking] [/HUMOR]

But more seriously, I think this is a huge part of the intrusive nature of the progressive movement. They seriously think that they can make everything right by just banning anything and everything they deem is bad (to them at least). Their vision of the government is an all-powerful entity which promises universal peace and safety if you just give up the notion that you can run your own life correctly and let government officials and bureaucracy make all decisions for you. And part of moving towards that goal is dumbing down enough people to actually believing that.

Sure, but they were MARKETED TO ADULTS, with lots of "these are not toys for children" labeling, it's not like they were giving them away inside chocolates.

This has been the socialist philosophy all along. Individualism and Socialism are completely incompatible. Under socialism you are NOT capable of making your own choices, all choices must be made by the collective.
