Going through Worcester court records from this week and just saw that Kang Lu had his gun charges dismissed.

No other explanation, or info. Pretty interesting though, does anyone know anything else about it?

Here's some clips from the story on him last month.

Dr. Kang Lu, a radiologist whose license to practice medicine has been suspended by the state Board of Registration in Medicine, was charged by Auburn police Jan. 27 with possessing a large-capacity firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition and engaging in sex for a fee. He was arraigned on those charges the next day in Central District Court.

Police pulled the car over and found Dr. Lu in possession of a 9 mm semiautomatic Glock handgun and a loaded handgun magazine, police said. A passenger in his vehicle told police she had just been paid by Dr. Lu to engage in sex with him at a local motel.

When asked whether he was licensed to carry the firearm, Dr. Lu argued about the validity of the state’s gun laws and said he was not “carrying” the weapon, but simply exercising his right to bear arms under the Second Amendment, police said.

Is he wrong? Our entire premise of the income tax is based on the 16th Amendment.

Brookline Doctor Busted With Gun & Hooker

My only question is which one is more dangerous these days...?

Maybe he has an expired LTC? My understanding is that, in general, carrying with an expired LTC is a civil offense only, not criminal, with these 3 exceptions:

1. The LTC was revoked for reasons other than failure to file change of address
2. You applied for a renewal/re-issue and have been denied. (this is why police are trained to keep denials on file 4ever)
3. You become a PP

So, this could be why the gun/possession charges were dismissed.

What's the advantage for the Commonwealth to keep the case in District Court?
They’re more interested in going after real criminals. A superior court judge is also much more likely to allow a motion to suppress. District Court judges rarely allow them. A defendant in a district court case will be out of jail by the time an appeal is decided, so appeals are rare in District Court

Yesterday was my son's birthday. He and I went to the casino to have some fun. We tend to play blackjack together.

This 50 something year old guy with greasy hair and gold chains sits down at the table with a very attractive 30 something year old woman. He reaches in his pocket and drops a huge wad of 100's on the table, peeling off a thousand to start playing. He leaves the giant wad on the blackjack table for a long time, trying to tell the world something about his means. The guy is clearly a loud mouthed jerk who wants the world to think he's somebody.

I lean over to my son and ask him to guess how much the woman is charging him for the "date"? Without missing a beat my son turns and whispers back to me "I'm not sure but I know it's more than Bob Kraft paid...".

OMG!!!

Was Bob Kraft in the backseat?

I know of one district court case with a search warrant based on suspicion of legal behavior. The district court judge started the proceedings with "I do not want to hear any arguments about the warrant".
