Although my collecting preference favors milsurps with a war weary appearance, or at least a tiny handling mark or two, I do have to admit that the purdy ones can be quite nice, as well.

And uncommon, too. So when I saw it on Gunbroker, I hit BIN.

Of course, an 1895 Izhevsk is not brand new. But this Czech Mosin Nagant Model 91/38 conversion looks like the final touches were put on it this morning. Beautiful new bluing and beech wood.

The pics tell the story. Thanks for looking.

The 5 is stamped on the barrel (not the receiver) by the Czechs, for an unknown reason. Nearly all M91/38's have a number from 1-5 that is stamped on the barrel in conjunction with the refurbishment process.

My other example is stamped with a 1.

Great pick up Martin08. I love those rare Czech marked Mosin. I have a 91/59 with Czech markings and for the longest time I just thought it was a Russian at the armory who had to much Vodka when he was stamping the markings. Beautiful stock on that one. CONGRATS[cheers]
