Bowling ball mortars

This is a hobby I could get into. A club where the guys construct mortars (most of them appear to be oxygen bottles), and have a competition to see who can launch a bowling ball the farthest.

They must be launching the things a good 500-600 yards or more.

Looks like a less expensive hobby than http://www.punkinchunkin.com - at least you don't need an 18 wheel flatbed to haul your unit to the matches.
