Boston metro print version 10/23

It should read "Chicago has the highest rate of firearm deaths in the nation, and some of the strictest gun laws. See the disconnection, America?"

This is why you don't talk to the media. This article was cut to put words in a FFL's mouth unless you read the article very carefully.

Oh, and police can query the FRB for all guns that ave transacted through a owners hands.

What they don't say is that the state had a LOWER gun death rate prior to 1998.

Hmmmm.

Maybe. JUST maybe, the gun death rate is NOT correlated to gun ownership rate. So restriction of Constitutional rights is not a good idea in terms of fighting crime aka gun deaths.

Wow, hold up on this one...

Talk about cherry picking the stats to fabricate the message you want to deliver.

Let's just take 2015, CDC firearm mortality stats, and look at New England:

Maine - 144
New Hampshire - 121
Vermont - 70
Massachusetts - 213
Connecticut - 189
Rhode Island - 51

So the two states with the strictest firearm regs lead the way in firearm related mortality... MA & CT

The one state with the least stringent (VT), trails with 3x less than MA...

And yes I realize there are other pieces to look at such as population, # of urban centers, etc... but on the face of it, I call BS to the article.

We all should, even knowing full well that you will get "its because the guns are pouring in from VT & NH"... Still should all write letters.

it's published by "can't see anything" because there's no daylight up here. Want to guess where their head is?

Okay - lets go further.

CDC Stats: 2015 / 2014 / 2005

Maine: 144 / 133 / 109
New Hampshire: 121 / 122 / 88
Vermont: 70 / 69 / 44
Massachusetts: 213 / 226 / 224
Connecticut: 189 / 187 / 187
Rhode island: 51 / 34 / 39

Yeah, those stringent laws have really worked... BS!

It's amazing how consistent those numbers are between every state and every year.. Has to be some weird statistic with regards to population?

METRO...News, you get to pick one. But man the numbers in that article were seriously skewed.

From what I've seen from talking to the more liberal friends/people I know, most people just see guns laws and say oh-good and never read into it. I tell them about the handgun roster and the dumb crap that goes along with it and even they think its asinine. Education is the best way to win over the middle, because they can recognize dumb when it pointed out.

Rosenthal claims that MA homicide rate has fallen 60% over the last two decades, and this is thanks to our gun laws; he fails to note that US homicide rates have fallen by about the same amount over the same period. Smooth.

We should tell him the rate dropped because they’re hiding from immigration officers

The author of this article has easily proven exactly what the pro2A has been saying since forever. The CDC has been blocked from funding into researching this “gun violence” epidemic because it will be used for political purposes.

This is why the funding is blocked every time the national budget is up for signing by the President.

How do you go from 65 gun murders in 1998 to 121 in 2011 and claim the # went down???

Oh, right. Instead of jumping off buildings and bridges, or taking a s-ton of pills, more people are choosing to off themselves with guns. No guns, people can't kill themselves. They'll just continue to work the Customer Service Desk at your local Walmart. ;)

(Facts and figgers from the Globe article references above.)
