Boston herald: If the rest of America had MASS gun laws

So you take the rights from people owning guns, that seems about right. So many things wrong with this opinion given. Guess you can’t hunt with a rifle anymore and someone dictates if you can own a gun. Yup that falls in line with 2a perfectly. Just stop beating around the bush and call it for what it is. Ban guns period.

That "opinion piece" reads more like a paid ad from Everytown, which it just might be.

Now I'm good and pissed off to start the day.

All you are doing by posting that trash is giving them more views.

It's not like we can go and comment on the article.

Nuh uh! Just look at the bastions of gun safety: Chicago. DC. Baltimore. Heavy gun laws. Low incidence of gun ownership. Safest places in the world to. . . . .bwahahahahahahahahahaha!! Sorry. I couldn't keep a straight face any longer.

"All high-powered, semiautomatic rifles and high-capacity magazines are banned for civilian use"

Do they not realize that in Mass we've been buying semi auto rifles and standard capacity magazines for years? At least pre-Healey we were.

But the murder rate doubled and suicide rate tripled since Bartley-Fox, that probably would happen nationwide.

If the rest of the nation had mAss gun laws then crime would rise precipitously

Since 1998, gun crime in Massachusetts has gotten worse, not better. In 2011, Massachusetts recorded 122 murders committed with firearms, the Globe reported this month — “a striking increase from the 65 in 1998.” Other crimes rose too. Between 1998 and 2011, robbery with firearms climbed 20.7 percent. Aggravated assaults jumped 26.7 percent.

And a large number of the over 760,000 people who use firearms defensively every year would be assaulted/murdered/raped/other

Defensive Gun Use Is Not a Myth

"Yet the death rate in Massachusetts is low not just because of good hospitals and favorable demographics.."

Please. Go on to describe your "favorable demographics".

(btw this is the Globe, not Herald)

Sorry, brain hadn't yet kicked in this AM

All these people calling for more gun control in attempt to save just one life forget that the defensive use of a firearm is over 100k annually, depending on where you get your info. How many lives are saved because of guns?

LOL article fails to consider the amount of lives that would be lost after the 2nd Civil war, required to enforce this idea... lol save 27,000 lives? You want to smoke, say like a million people to, theoretically (because the postulation is flawed bullshit, from even a laypersons perspective) save 27K a year?

My response: "f*** you, commie shitbirds. "

This is the same rag that called for hanging people who question vaccine safety. Pretty obvious how these propaganda rags stay in business, it’s sure not from the average joe buying and reading it.

How does Ma compare with the rest of New England. I believe Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont all have less gun laws than Ma.
