    We cant even get a series of microphones that correctly identifies gun shots. Imagine a robot that has to identify gun shots, the bad guy, collateral damage and then take out that bad guy.

    Yeah...we are still a few years (decades?) from that.

    I was talking to a friend of mine at work yesterday. He wants to send his drone half a mile to the local DDs to pick up a couple of coffees. The folks at the DD are willing but he doesn't think he can do it without attracting the wrong kind of attention.

    Amazon delivery drones are pretty close now, apparently. When I see an Amazon drone land in my driveway I will know I have lived long enough to see the future, from a time before computers and cell phones to smartphones and delivery drones.

    Long before we have a robot that can distinguish a good guy from a bad guy, an IA will spontaneously become aware and determine ALL humans are bad. Then it will be easier to identify who to shoot.

    Is that why New Bedford implemented it and now they are getting rid of it? (Or whatever town it was in MA).
