Right... And the criminals will really still be standing around by the time police arrive.

Heck, what about fire crackers or even say a kid jumping on an empty gallon milk jug causing a loud 'boom'.

Do you think the system is THAT good in detecting ONLY a gunshot signature and not the old clunker backfiring?

What a waste of time effort and $$.
 
What happened to the little print head on the primer pin? Well, never mind, this is a much better idea. Then, they can put little acoustic chambers in cases, and require owners to use only cases with their particular acoustic signature. Empty .40 s&w cases for reloading will be $200/100. Then, this system can be used to instantly match up a gunshot to a particular gun, and hense it's owner. That'll solve everything.......
 
Why don't they just use sattelite surveillance of all people at all times, and make sure it's got x-ray vision to see through buildings? That'd solve everything. [angry]
