The occasional draft bust is bound to happen. Every NHL team has them, no matter how good their scouting is. Some players peak at 18, others are late bloomers. It's a crap shoot after ther first couple dozen blue-chippers. IMHO the Bruins have been drafting and developing players better these past few years than most teams and have a solid core of 20-25 year olds to build on!

also EVERY time you jump up a league, the playing gets faster and tougher. Go from D1 college or Major Junior, and do an AHL game....some just can not adjust to the faster pace...even though they were a Phenom where they just came from

Exactly! They draft players based on projection / potential. The 2007 Draft comes to mind with a first round full of busts... The Bruins took Zack Hamill 8th overall. That pick looked solid at the time on a player (smallish but smart and highly skilled in Major Junior) with lots of potential. He peaked at the AHL level, as do many players, which is still a high level. Anyway, Hamill got a few cups of NHL coffee and never scored a goal, has been bouncing around the European lower leagues into obscurity. The very next pick in that draft was Logan Couture and he's a superstar with San Jose..... His drawback on draft day was his injury history and perceived brittleness. Like I said: it's a crapshoot and the Bruins are big winners lately!
