6th straight playoff game win!
Great win. Canes should have been called for too many men on the ice with about 30 seconds left but given all the crap not called in the game, this wasn’t a huge surprise.
Tuukka took this game for them. I’m not sure where the first line has gotten off to, but it would be nice for them to show up at some point.
Tucka is the man!
Chara sucks and so did the refs.
No one can say he’s not a playoff goalie now....
I still would have traded him in '15. I certainly would in '20. But he's been exactly what they needed this year.
Some of you guys are blinded by bias. Yes, that probably should have been too many men, and yes, the DeBrusk penalty was rubbish, but I have no idea what missed calls you guys are complaining about. And when I asked, nobody was able to point to a specific instance. The officiating was fine. Both teams were called for 7 penalties.
As for the goalie interference call, I’m not surprised. Bruins never have it called in their favor. The calls in general are totally inconsistent. We’ve seen similar calls go both ways. If I was in charge of the reviewing, I’d also wave it off. It’s bad luck there was contact with the skates in the paint. I’d always disallow those.
That’s literally the rule. Incidental contact in the crease and a goal is scored it shall be disallowed. But I’m not in charge and the NHL doesn’t follow their own rule book. They allow that goal more often than not. But not for the Bruins.
The goalie was out of the blue crease when the defensive player hit the offensive player into the goalie.
It was a goal.
And I love Chara but is a huge liability.
Bergeron and Marchand were fine. They had 3 and 5 shots respectively, and Marchand scored. Pasta on the other hand was invisible. It’s why his ice time was way down and he played 8-10 less shifts than Marchand/Bergeron.
But this was a tough game. Lots of PP’s for both teams breaks up flow with the lines. And with Carolina pushing most of the game it’s not the sort of game you want Pasta on the ice for long stretches in. Ditto for Backes and Heinen, and that reflected in their ice time as well.
The Cains shot their load in the first and got nothing because the B's kicked butt.
The skates contacted in the crease. Watch the replay. I don’t like it but the B’s aren’t winning the challenge. If DeBrusk was never in the crease and was pushed in, as opposed to cutting through the crease, it would be a good call 100%. But I digress.
He’s fine. I saw one not so great play from him all game (going to his backhand when he was on his forehand and turning it over late).
we stole that one , could've easily been 2-0 Carolina in the first if they actually hit the net on a couple of wide open net chances.
Rask was awesome again as was the 4th line !!! 5 wins away from the stanley cup.
Let's hope we don't see Philadelphia 2010 all over again
Tuukka has the Eye of the Tiger! He was unreal tonight!!
That was the canes best game and they still lost tuukka has been God like
The first time the Hurricanes have lost on home ice in the entire postseason. The Bruins did a much better job in periods 2-3 stopping Carolina’s surge, only 16 SOG in the last 2 periods after they threw 20 at Tuukka in the first.
Bad News For Chris Wagner.
Ouch, shades of Gregory Campbell from a few years ago, continuing to kill the penalty with a broken leg.
I think Accari was a healthy scratch so he’s probably right back in.
Wish this game was at 7
This^ and on NESN. Missing Alex too!
I miss Alex and Jack but not nesn their audio video quality sucks NBC's blows it out of the water
But I would have loved to hear Jack call that last game with the saves Tuuk made.....
So if we win tonight we could have some time off before we start the finals. Wonder if that's a good thing or bad....
I almost sort of want the Bruins to lose tonight. I mean it’s unlikely that they’ll end up winning 11 straight games, which means it’s likely they’ll lose at least one. I’d rather a loss now then any in the finals. If they win this series in 5 that sets them up perfectly to win the Cup in 4, winning each consecutive series in one less game then the round before!
Speaking of losing, what an absolutely trash way to lose a game last night for St. Louis. That was even worse than the Columbus goal off the back netting against Boston.
Filthy palm to tape pass by Timo Meier. Of course hand passes in the offensive zone are illegal. Yet somehow the only 4 people in the entire building to not see it were wearing striped shirts and skates. Rubbish. And in OT so there isn’t even a way for St. Louis to come back.
Yes. Ridiculous. I get that officials will miss calls and that replay ain’t perfect, but this seems like an AWFUL lot of that this postseason.
Speculation from WBZ big Z is scratched tonight
Might have been Chara’s best game of the playoffs.
Sharks have benefited from huge ref screwups in each of their series. They shouldn’t even be there.
