And the chance that NYS becomes "shall issue" is the same as that MA will become "shall issue"!

In another forum I read the reason why it won't happen. Simply put, all the votes in NYC override the votes in ALL parts of the rest of NY! Sounds very much like the MA problem with Boston and suburbs overruling the entire rest of this state.

Good idea, but politically not possible.

Too bad we can't figure out some way to put an "electoral college" style system into place, and give some power back to less populated portions of states like MA and NY. Try and bring things like this up as citizens' petitions.

It's called "tyranny by majority". What they really need is County autonomy (States Rights!). That way, NYC isn't deciding what's best for rural NYS.
