This attempted convenience store robbery in Norwood MA was brought to my attention over at our Law of Self Defense Instructor Program Graduates Facebook page (which is accessible only by, you guessed it, graduates of our instructor program, so I won't bother providing a link to that page, but here's a link to the news report).
The poster, BJJ instructor as well as LOSD IP graduate John Davie, wondered whether this convenience store clerk's use of force would be a defense of property matter or a defense of self matter. I read that as asking for general comment on the appropriate of the clerk's use of force, and responded:
