Anyone use a biometric safe in your vehicle ? Do the batteries last in cold weather ?
Would a dirty print have issues ?

Running a Vaultek in the ride, and find myself using the key codes vs. fingerprint 99% of the time. It's been about a month, so we'll see how the battery life goes.

Lithium batteries will hold up much better in cold weather.

I've found that even with lithium, theres still issues with life, but much better.

Given how inconsistently my iPhone and/or iPad recognizes my fingerprint, I’d stay away from something like that if I needed to defend myself quickly.

This1000%. Get your fingers wet and it won’t recognize the prints.

Biometrics are a terrible idea for quick action safes. They don't work if your finger(s) is dirty, greasy, bloody, etc. They are fine if you are not in a rush, but are not reliable to use for quick access to a gun.

I have never had any luck with them, I would stay away from them.

Simplex lock is the best solution.
