If I ever need to buy a shed, I'll get one elsewhere. These are the type of things people remember.

+ piss poor attitude, you can tell that guy would probably get in your face if you ever needed customer service. These days companies need offer fair prices on quality stuff and kiss your ass with great customer service.

Just a thought here. As this picks up steam and I see the story is on Drudge already, it may behoove WTKK to bring him back and capitalize on increased ratings for Jay due to all of this Publicity.
And like this hasn't been the plan all along??? [grin]

Just bought a shed from post woodworking

http://www.postwoodworking.com/

Better quality and no a**h***s like reeds ferry!!!
In the 35 years I have lived in this house, I have had 2 Post Woodworking sheds. The first one lasted >20 years and got infested with termites/carpenter ants. The current one is all cedar to avoid that problem. Post has been super professional, with a great product at a good price. Each shed was setup, on time, built in 1 hour and done.

I've been toying with getting a second shed, much bigger one as my lawn tractor doesn't fit easily in my current shed.

Guess who I won't consider?

Treating potential customers like crap isn't a wise way to run a business of any sort.

My sister bought a Reed's Ferry shed about 2 years ago based on MY SUGGESTION. As a loyal listener to WTKK I had heard many ads from RF and they instantly came to mind. They make a great product. If I hadn't suggested RF based on the commercials I'd heard, she would've bought a home depot shed. So the listeners really do make a difference even if we don't personally buy the product. After reading about how they *really* think about their customers and the public, I know I'll never recommend them again. Sad.

really this makes me want to call them. i bet he thinks that he can spew whatever he wants because he filters emails or something

it makes my blood boil that someone could be so arrogant and rude-- almost as if he is untouchable.

i would love to unseat that POS. he 100% deserves to lose his job.

As another followup. Bill is not a ReedsFerry employee. I actually called and spoke to Tim Charlton(owner) and he said that bill is a "media buyer". He also said he didn't have time to post that on here, so I did it for him.

I am one of 160,000 people who will laugh when I hear their advertisements from now on. And then tell whoever is with me that they are rude & offensive .... and think my friends and I are nutjobs.

I wonder if it will hurt to pay for all that advertising knowing how many people will be reminded in a BAD way when their company name comes on ....

WTF is a "media buyer" and why is Bill returning emails for the company?

Ignoring it's fine. It sounds like Tim is doing a shitty job at damage control at this point. Nothing like making it worse.

Pure speculation but I'm guessing they've outsourced their advertising function to this guy and I'm guessing the email link Rob used went to him vs the company.

Hey, maybe we can get him to lose his client [smile]

If nothing else, this thread is certainly putting the lie to the old Brendan Behan quote that "There is no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary."

Actually, once you find out what a media buyer does, and how he gets paid, this will simultaneously make more and less sense.

Media buyers take an ad budget from a company and, supposedly, spend it wisely taking circa 10%. This guy get paid for what ever ads he buys for the company and proves his worth by driving traffic to the site after an ad buy. He benefits from increased spending and from hiding this type of controversy from his client(s). Although technically he works for Reeds, he really is courted by the ad sellers and can make money funneling money to particular sellers. What a f'd up industry.

So in an f-d up way, it seems if he hurts the business resulting in the business needing to increase the advertising budget to make up for the shortfall, dimwits like this make even MORE money.
