Bill restricts use of deadly force in N.H.

Granite state progress. Sandra rice Hawkins. In support of 135. SYG was an ill advised law. Treyvon Martin. Does nothing but bring us back to where we were.... Will cause increase of gun violence if not passed. NRA lobby wants to remove consequences of criminal activity. We want to avoid vigilante justice. Treyvon Martin onlycrime was wearing a hoodie and drinking an iced tea. SYG solved nothing and was headache for Law Enforcement.

Gerald p Ross. Hudson. Support 135 . Things wecan do to reduce victims of gun violence. 135 does not infringe on self defense. ....treyvon Martin ....... Good people can be in wrong place wrong time. Seeks to reduce possibility. Save one child.

Michelle lavelle nh liberty alliance. Oppose135. March manch teen was being attacked viciously. Good samaritan tried to help teen. WithoutSYG would not have been able to. Complete safety retreat not clearly defined. Adds too much subjectivity to law.

Gail Calosee. Thought SYG would enhance personal safety. Says research shows increase in homicide in Florida since enacted.

Robert green. Same thing as last lady. SYG increase homicide. Nh has low homicide rate, wants to keep it that way. Says there wasno problem before.

Here's hoping this gets defeated in a big way. I'd hate to see our friends in NH deal with the garbage that we do in the libitard state of MA.

Ralph Damico. Florida comparison, may or may not occur in NH. NH not Florida . Violence on personal level occur more often outside of home. Bill reduces safety outside the home. People's lives should not be worth less outside their home.

We had for years I don't want it back.

Judith statmen. Support of 135 . SYG, unnecessary and unsafe.FBI database shows zero justifiable homicides in nh. Keep it that way. Other states have issues with SYG.
people shouldn't take law into hands. Reasonable people might not see situation correctly.

She was one who started petition. And brought a bunch of testimonies with her.

Last time I checked, Florida's SYG law hasn't stopped the prosecution of George Zimmerman.

Another lie
Florida Crime Rates 1960 - 2011

Earl cole. In wheelchair. Retreat if you can, but in his condition, he cannot. Bill was drafted in interest of public safety. That is a problem. Sees through the eyes of state not individual. He states it is a law he would not abide by. He will need what he needs to.

Anne Liza, I know this one. Anti speaks every time. Retired teacher, gun violence widow. Supports bill. Any small step to curtail gun violence is step in right direction. If NYPD can only hit 18% of time what hope does non police have. Or someone may misread situation. This bill withdraws from violence. SYg is about initiating violence.

Dina Romero. Supports 135, consider that since NH is not Florida, do we need SYG? Kid filming a movie, procured toy guns and did filming in a neighborhood. Police arrived with guns drawn. Her son could have been shot under SYG.

WTF? where do they come up with this, so police are require to flee if safe to do so?

Dr. Joseph Hannon. Bill is abut where are we allowed to defend ourselves. Proponents of bill using arguments that are ridiculous. Studies show police miss more often then citizens in shooting. Citizens make less mistakes per studies in identifying suspects then police. Bystanders are everywhere in and out of home. No one knows 100 percent if they can retreat. He lived in FL before and after. And had 2incidents, and even after SYg he did not shoot the guy. Gun deescalated situation. People won't shoot over a parking spot. This a feel good law.

No, it was before SYG thinks a neighbor could have shot her kid.

Steve stefanik. Opposed to 135. Belongs to NRA,pghnh, oath keepers, pretty much everyone...
senators took oath to uphold both constitutions nh and USA. Reading NHconstitution, right to defend self property and state. Part 2 states in article 5, laws cannot be repugnant to constitution.

Lady up now missed her name,Texas A+m university study, states does not reduce crime, increases udders and non-negligent homicide. She attended that university. States it is not a hotbed of liberalism.
consider the study.

She adopted NH , proud of live free or die, but why allow corporate funded (NRA) intereststo help make laws in NH . SYG is for non centralized areas, wild west, not Nh. SYG not following live free or die. Policies not adopted to take care of significantly small issues. They are for larger philosophies. Wouldn't be able to flee we'll two bad knees, states jury wouldn't hold her for using deadly force.

Americans don't retreat. We might "advance in a different direction,"* but that's all.
Keep up the good fight for your rights, NH.

*"Retreat, hell! We're not retreating, we're just advancing in a different direction." -- Maj. Gen. O.P. Smith, USMC. Korea, 1950

I prefer "tactical withdrawal".

It can also apply to measures taken during and after a one night stand.

Penny dean. People in trenches can tell you how things are and were. Does not have confidence in LE. Why put innocent person to trial. People have to defend themselves even for using force in homes sometimes. One case Law abiding citizen, attacked by felons, and was charged. One LEO told her, "Rightto self defense is right to call911" if you do not raise enough facts within30 days, cannot bring up self defense.

She is calling out those who state Charges not brought up if not enough evidence. Says she's seen convictions on little evidence.

Cases happen all the time, people going broke.

Caloing out chief who said citizens not well trained.

Also stating people still prosecuted under current law. States we need more protection not infringements.

Rep Itse up. Still on 135. Article 2A states explicit right to defend self. scotus decision, police not have duty to protect you, if it does have means. We do not have capacity to provide protection for everyone, so we do not have right to rob them of right to defend themselves.

James Luther judge, opposed. Victim cannot calculate in heat of moment. Not good governance to repeal after a year and a half. Stand your ground has not been used as a defense yet. 80 percent of cc being issued now are women.

That alone should be the end of the discussion. Jerking the law around before there's any evidence in is never good policy.

Rep John Manley , support 135. Concern is "any place person has right to be." schools need to be safety zone. States SyG would reduce school safety zones. We need these tools to keep kids safe. Does not want it to be used as a defense on playground.. More than about guns.

Jerry Hopkins rep. 135 too subjective. Different demographics, and LEOs treat things. Differently.
neighbor discharged gun at his house, and under old law he did not have right to do anything, now he would. SYG was strong enough to override veto. Most people do not run. They want to help others.

Underthe bill if he tried to stop a crime using his gun, he'd be charged. In Boston people ran to scene, it is nature of people.

John white. Support of 135. Gun owner CCl holder. Cognizant of responsibility. Did not get CCl for protection. Got it to not offend neighbors if he goes to range so he does not open carry. Says SYG gives CCL holder the license to act in paranoia, and shoot first. States lack of problems With SyG is due to people being prudent. Says repealing subtracts nothing from law. Enacting it makes gun owners rest easier....
