It always cracks me up when stupid clams focus all of their sputtering, frothing hysteria on the NRA. The NRA could be disbanded tomorrow and I wouldn't expect much of anything to change as far as gun rights or accessibility go. If they were serious about "fighting in the trenches" then they'd march down to their nearest range and start kicking dudes in the nuts like they say they will.
 
You'd be surprised how many arguments I get into on Twitter about the NRA just promoting guns for their own profit. People ACTUALLY think that the NRA makes money off of gun sales. I then have to explain that they are only a lobby group that only exists due to gun owners donating. It usually shuts the other side up.

Being the biggest lobbyist in DC, they are an easy whipping-boy for the Left. But you are correct - should they realize that freedom is free, the NRA would go back to being a small organization revolving around shooting matches. They don't have an opinion on free health care, taxes or the immigration issue.
