Hi guys,

I'm looking to get a fresh turkey this year for Thanksgiving. I've heard good thing about Gerard Farms in Marshfield. Anyone buy from them? Any other places on the South Shore I should consider?

I don't know if Gerrad is raising their own birds anymore, but I can tell you that in the 50 years I've been there customer I have never not been happy.

Both Ditchdigger and Glockaholic are right. Both great places for turkey. As far as sandwiches go I think Bongis has got the Gerards beat.

Picked up a 20lb bird from Bongi's today, can't wait to fry it up.

If the sandwiches we bought from them are any indication of how the whole bird is going to be, it's going to be delicious!

My turkeys come from a guy I work with. They are scheduled to hit the processor tomorrow morning. The largest one I got from him was 48 pounds dressed without the neck or heart. I got that one because he doesn't know anyone else with an oven large enough to cook it.
