can they be had anywhere?

Graf had Tula berdan primers last year. They don't list them now, although they still list other Tula ammo.

I have found a simple way to decap once-fired GP-11 Swiss brass, and have plenty of it. I need .217 Berdan primers to complete the deal. - JR

Murom Apparatus Producing Plant in Russia, if you can arrange a purchase...

Powder Valley Inc. lists them, too...but find them in stock!

Years back I ordered PMC-packaged LRBs from Grafs, but the outer carton listed Murom as the manufacturer.

The GP-11 is worth keeping, for sure. It decaps easily and can be loaded again and again. I've loaded mine with light cast loads, frangibles, plastic riot tips and so on...

Good luck with your quest!

What method are you using to remove the primers?? I read an article in one of those old Handloader Magazines, left in the clubhouse, that had a method to convert berdan system to boxer primers.....

For the GP-11, a de-pinned Lee 30 Cal decapper set with water does just fine. Same for many others, too. The stubborn brass (Yugo 8mm, South African 308 etc) will likely require mechanical means (RCBS decapping tool or similar).

I can only address large rifle cases (berdan .217" and boxer .210")... don't know about the small rifle and pistol primer pocket dimensions specifically. If you have a way to shim the extra diameter, I suppose you could do a conversion, but it just isn't worth it to me. It's hard enough just finding a source for berdan primers for the easily decapped berdan brass I re-use.
