Benchmade Knives

I was at the KTP a few weeks ago and was playing with what I thought was a mini-griptilian that had an assisted opening much like my kershaws. I liked it and saw one on sale online so I ordered it. Well...this one does not open like an assisted knife, it opens just like any other knife with thumb studs. I am trying to figure out if this is just defective or are there multiple versions of the mini-griptilian. The website is less than helpful.

was it the "nitrous" one? i have that knife..thing is balls awesome...mine came in a heckler and koch box..i know benchmade has several knives made with HK, my buddy has one that has the "HK" logo on it but mine just has the benchmade butterfly

Their are many version of the mini grip. none are assisted opening

I think that you're thinking of the Benchmade 585 Mini-Barrage. Next time I have $85 to spare I will own one
