Any recommendation of a reputable gunsmith in eastern MA who could cut a 308 barrel, thread, and target-crown it?

I have a 24" bull barrel and would like to cut it to 20" (on a DPMS G2)

Thanks.

You might check with Tim Gostling, G&N Gunsmithing co-located with Gartman Arms in Wrentham. Tim is a paid sponsor on NES as well. I've had him do other handgun work for me and his work is top-notch. http://gartmanarms.webs.com/gunsmithing

Another is Dave Santurri in No. Attleboro, http://santurriltd.com/

Thanks for the info.
What is the benefit of rebarreling? This is a brand new G2 Bull .308 Win. I just do not like or need a 24" barrel, hope to cut it down a bit

you might be able to sell the barrel you have, install a new/better barrel and be ahead of the game in the end. I have been quoted 50-100 just for a dove tail cut. So a barrel cut, recrown and thread is going to run what 200$ ?

Let me do some search on options. Maybe I could go to 6.5 creedmor too, something I have been thinking to go into.

Im not much of a expert but I think the cost to cut a barrel down would be better spent in making the rifle more to what you want/like

Did some searches, it seems like no one sells barrel for the G2 platform yet. G2 is a smaller frame platform between 223 and other 308 platform. There are barrel for DPMS' old LR-308, not G2 yet
