Shadowcat came to us from Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA. They're a no-kill shelter. Shadow had been there for a month, and was a little squirrelly from being in the cage for that long. One of the workers told us that he'd been adopted by the father of another worker but got returned with a few days. We decided to give him a try because he seemed like a good guy... and we've been so glad we did. He's an awesome cat.

If you're in Metrowest and looking for a cat or dog, try Buddy Dog. They've always got a great selection of critters that need a home, and they have a vet check out all of the critters before they're allowed to be adopted.
 
I picked her up in duxbury at a no kill shelter, it was more like some womans house with a hundred cats in it.. :)
Shes been through hell. I got her at about a year.
First she was fixed "in a van" by the shelter....(no belly rubbing,very sensitive)
secondly shes had some extensive surgery, Her hips have plates and pins and shes got some pretty extensive scars under her lower lip (if cats have such a thing) and along her neck and belly where her hair hasnt grown back. Im pretty sure she was hit by a car. she walks funny and has a real hard time getting comfortable.
no one wanted her Im pretty sure becuase she has problems with her butt,whihc im sure is related to her hips. its not self cleaning like most cats, if you know what i mean and she needs a little assitance every now and then.
She didnt play for the first year i got her and she never spoke.
lately shes come out of her shell, shes always been affectionate, just not the playfull bundle one expects from a 1 year kitten.
the only time she speaks is when she comes in the shower. ill be in the shower and turn around and shes right there at my feet, she has no fear of water whatsoever. she wont drink out of a bowl ,only shower water is good enough for her :P
 
Our cat, Merlin (he's all black with green eyes) was used as a foot ball for the first 18 months of his life. He finally escaped the animal that had him and we rescued him. He runs under the bed when we have people over, but he's a sweetie. He's 12 now. Come to think of it, the only animal(s) we've ever had that I bought were the two white rats. All the rest have been rescues or adoptees.
