Baltimore Deputy Police Commissioner Robbed At Gun Point

BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — Officials say the deputy commissioner for Baltimore City Police and his wife, were robbed at gunpoint Friday night.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. near Patterson Park in the city's southeast area.

The victim, Danny Murphy, was able to tell police that a white SUV with four people inside pulled up to them as they were walking. Police say, two black males, believed to be 18, got out of the SUV, showed a handgun and demanded the victims hand over their property.

A purse, wallet, and cellphones were taken.

Police say the suspects fled on Patterson Park Avenue. Murphy and his wife were not injured.

If he didn't physically present himself like a victim the SUV would probably have driven right by without a second look. When you look like a 14 year old dork/pencil neck geek, you might as well be wearing a sandwich board that reads
"Please rob me".

Criminals who rob and strong arm people pick their "mark" based almost solely on that mark's physical appearance. If this "dork" looked like your stereotypical Hell's Angel biker, that SUV would have taken a different route alltogether.

Bottm line, DON'T look like a victim in public and your chances of being robbed drop to near zero.
