AZ - Security Guard Shot, Shoots & Kills Assailant

A strip club security guard shot a patron early Christmas morning in what Phoenix police are calling self-defense. The patron later died at an area hospital.

Witnesses said a fight broke out between two groups of people at the club, said Sgt. Steve Martos, a Phoenix police spokesman.

The bouncers and security guard broke up the altercation and asked everyone to leave the property. That's when 22-year-old Tekina Latu became upset, retrieved a handgun, and pointed it at the armed security guard, Martos said.

Latu fired several rounds at the security guard striking him in several areas, including his ballistic vest.....
