Ok, we all know Trump hates due process and told Diane Frankenstein to make sure she gets her stuff in the gun control bill, but let’s keep it to what the title says. Will this new AWB that Mitch said “is on the table” actually be permanent with no sunset date? And what kind of weapons will it involve, rifles only or all semiautomatics? Will there be any buyback bullshit if they go full retard any say to turn them all in?? I for one have been doing my share of panic buying and changed my tactics anticipating something pretty bad. Let’s hope it’s all hot air but I got a bad feeling.

If it's seriously that bad, then the United States of America is a thing of the past. Within no more than two years, either there will be a partition or a civil war.

Why stop at the ocean when you could take care of two of our problems at once? There's a few nice coastal cities with an average hippie/communist population of 99.9% I think we could cull. Hollyweird hasn't done much but remakes lately anyway, so it's not like we'd be missing out on entertainment either...just watch the original that's very likely better with less CG anyway.

They can try all they want, I don't think it would survive in the supreme court, especially considering how common semi-automatic rifles are and how few are used in crimes each year. I am 100% sure that a semi-automatic handgun ban would follow a year or two later if they were able to pass it. That would be followed by a total ban and confiscation. The only way this would actually happen right now though is if there was a major change to the SC by our next socialist in chief

"There will be a civil war". Like the one in California when they banned ARs, or like the one in Massachusetts when they banned ARs, or more like the one in NY or Connecticut when they banned ARs? Fantasy civil war aside, if we don't beat this in Congress NOW the 2a is f****d.

As I wrote in another thread. Sign up to add your voice to any or all of the 2A organizations. Membership numbers do matter. GOA does a good job of collecting signatures for letters like this one below.

Things have taken a turn for the worse since we asked you to email the White House…

...NOW, SENATE REPUBLICANS ARE UNITING BEHIND LINDSEY GRAHAM’S BILL THAT WOULD EFFECTIVELY *END* YOUR 2A RIGHTS.

This Red Flag Gun Confiscation bill, based on a prototype drafted by the anti-gun Giffords Organization, would send SWAT teams to your door to steal your guns with NO REAL DUE PROCESS WHATSOEVER.

This is our promise to you -- we will fight until the very last vote is cast to destroy this atrocious bill.

But early reports are that the anti-gun Left is generating THOUSANDS of phone calls into the offices of weak-kneed Republican Senators.

We need your help countering the Left’s efforts and turning up the heat on Republican Senators. They need to know that America does NOT want these dangerous gun control proposals that will be considered any day now in the Senate!

Please send our pre-written letter to EVERY SINGLE Republican Senator’s inbox telling them that if they vote to end the Second Amendment, American voters will NEVER FORGET it.

    ADD YOUR NAME
Gun Owners of America has already vowed to support a primary challenger to Lindsey Graham because he is introducing this bill. And we will take note of any and all Republicans who join him in shredding the Second Amendment.

I cannot overstate how dangerous this legislation would be.

This bill would create a federal “bribe pot” to encourage states to pass Red Flag Gun Confiscation bills. This means SWAT teams would be empowered to show up at innocent Americans’ doorsteps, demanding they fork over their guns, all because they’ve been named a suspected danger to our society.

This is exactly what happened to an African-American gentleman living in Maryland. After a family argument, an angry relative got revenge against Gary Willis by using the state Red Flag Gun Confiscation law to send police to his door. The authorities showed up at 5:17 a.m. and shot him to death.

Giving government agents the power to confiscate firearms, while throwing due process out the window, is the path to tyranny our Founding Fathers warned us about. And the cowardice of a few politicians who care more about the media’s opinions than what is right and true will get us there.

And to add insult to injury, Lindsey Graham is downright lying to the American people when he says that this bill would recognize due process.

If that were the case, his bill could not fund ANY state program currently on the books or any program being considered by any state legislature. Because not one state with red flag gun grabs currently includes due process prior to seizing a gun owners' firearms!

Point blank: we need to end this bill now before it ends the Second Amendment.

Please send our pre-written letter to EVERY SINGLE Republican Senator’s inbox telling them that if they vote to end the Second Amendment, American voters will NEVER FORGET it.

Buy a crap load of oversized PVC pipes with corresponding caps, lots of Ziploc bags for various parts, and cosmoline and/or another protective oil/agent. Also get something to suck the air out of packs. Pick your favorite tree in the back yard, and bury your ish 30 yards away from that.

Trump + McConnell are really playing with fire with advocating for a new AWB. If they both sign off on a new AWB, they can kiss 2020 goodbye. Almost a surefire way to lose support in conservative and battleground states.

Yup. I smartened up post Sandy Hook.....others like the op here......didn't smarten up post Sandy Hook.......or chose not to listen to those that did.

    Stack it high.....stack it deep.

If Congress gets back to session and starts talking awb or national licensing......the shelves will be bare for about a year just like post Sandy Hook. I'm ok for about a year worth of range time.

This crew wouldn't care if he nuked Hawaii if they could get a gun ban in effect, especially if they thought that would definitely doom Trumps re-election.

This, gun control costs more votes than it would win, and Obama would be quickly demoted to second best all time gun salesman.....

    From his hometown newspaper........

    https://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/policy/guns/article233630997.html

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, under severe pressure from Democrats and a growing number of Republicans, suggested Thursday that the Senate could look at a ban on assault weapons and that there’s Senate support for a move to expand background checks to nearly all gun sales.

Trump knows his base and he wants to win re-election.
    "
"Donald Trump is a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them. Like all of us, he is understandably horrified by the murder sprees of that progressive environmental eugenics weirdo and that member of Big Chief Warren’s tribe.* But Trump is also keenly aware that any betrayal of his supporters on a literally life or death issue like guns – if you’ve been listening to the left you have a good idea what miserable fate awaits you if you get disarmed and they take power – will result in his wholesale abandonment by his supporters. No, his base probably won’t go vote for the furry, or Doxxy Castro’s brother, or Gaffe-y McOldenheimer. His base will just stay home. Trump will lose, the GOP will lose the Senate, and the left will take over. And bad things will happen to the liberal elite’s enemies, not least of all to Trump and his family.

Trump understands this. And he understands that the media is trying to get him to alienate his own supporters. But so far, he has never stuck us in the back even after the garbage media eagerly reports on his conciliatory talk on subjects near and dear to us in the hopes that it means a betrayal is incoming. It never has been in the past. There’s no reason to believe he would sell us out now.

We would not forgive him. To go left on guns would be, at a minimum, political suicide. "
