If you've posted a WTB thread, and a member (usually one with no or few posts) contacts you and provides an email address for someone selling whatever it is you're looking for, it's a scam 100% of the time.

Here are some red flags that indicate a scam:
  • The member who contacts you is new, or they have no/few posts
  • The contact provides an email address for someone selling whatever it is that you WTB
  • The "seller" is out of state or can't/won't meet in person
  • The "seller" wants payment via PayPal (gift), Venmo, CashApp, or other electronic means
If you get such an offer, report it to the mods and we'll bring down the ban hammer.
