Auto Ordnance 1911 for $420 @ fs

Pretty sick deal to get a 1911. Wish I was closer I'd go grab one but for those of you who do good chance to add a 1911 in your collection.

Great guns; made in Worcester and the quality has been getting better and better under Kahr. They just made the black oxide version MA-compliant (despite swearing they weren't going to even try) so if you don't like the very gray parkerized version, it may be up your alley. $420 is absurdly low, for a free state even.

Can you change the slide to get better sights?

Front sight is staked rear is dovetailed. Most competent gunsmiths can do this job (for cheaper than a slide, which are well fitted so you might open a can of worms). Either stake a better front sight or weld and mill a dovetail, and either slide in a rear sight or mill for Bomar/Henie/Novak/whatever.

I would definitely get one at that price. Probably the best value for a quality milspec 1911 out there.

With a couple of shops closing around here, FS keeps up with awesome prices.
I have never been there but damn I wish they were closer.
But driving 3 hour round trip, to save $20-40 on a gun doesn't make sense.

Good to see Sub2Ks back in stock. Waiting for Ruger to copy their idea and make it higher quality, like they've done with PF9 and 3AT
