So I bought this one recently. (as recent as June)
I was browsing Kittery looking for a Turkish (Ottoman) Mauser. Well, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but I stumbled on this "1912 Spanish Mauser" for $165.

I love Mausers and hadn't seen one like this before, so I grabbed it without really a second thought. The problem now is I can't figure out any history on it. The seal on the barrel is pretty worn, what I can make out is "Fabric... ...Arms" in a half moon shape. With the 1912 undernieth it.

It looks like both Chilean and Mexican Mausers minus a few differences and different barrel markings.

Any help from you Mauser Experts?

Post a shot of the front sight.

Its most likely chambered in 7mm. Any designations stamped? If its one of the 308 converted ones it'll have it stamped somewhere.

Be SURE to check headspace on this. I bought a similar one from KTP that I brought back because the headspace was WAY off. In the future, I'll have them check it at the store before I buy. They have the gauges.
